4 killed in Nyanga shooting while fixing flat tyre

Gunmen opened fire on men attending to a puncture along Old Klipfontein Road in the Western Cape.

Four men were shot and killed in Nyanga in the Western Cape last night (August 1) after they were attacked while repairing a flat tyre along Old Klipfontein Road.

According to The Witness, police said the victims were travelling in a Toyota Avanza when they stopped at 21:55 to attend to the puncture.

Unknown gunmen reportedly opened fire on the men, who sustained fatal gunshot wounds. They were declared dead at the scene.

The suspects fled and have not yet been arrested.

Police believe the shooting may be taxi-related, although the motive will form part of the ongoing investigation.

The Serious Violent Crime Unit is investigating four counts of murder.
