Annette Kennealy murder: Employee of the deceased denied bail

The arrested suspect in this matter appeared before the Louis Trichardt Magistrate’s Court on Friday on a charge of murder and house robbery and was denied bail

The 40-year-old suspect, an employee of the deceased, was arrested on Tuesday night (21 May) following the gruesome discovery of the body of a farmer and activist against farm attacks, 51-year-old Annette Kennealy at the farm Welgevonden outside Louis Trichardt (Makhado) on that particular day, Polokwane Review reports.

The deceased was reportedly attacked and murdered during the night between 20 and 21 May, while in the company of the accused.

In an earlier statement, Police spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe reported that after family members tried to call her without success, one member went to investigate and upon arrival at the house found the deceased lying in a pool of blood.

Her body had multiple stab wounds.

The accused faces charges of murder and house robbery and his cases were postponed to 1 July for further police investigations, said Ngoepe.

Police investigations are still continuing.
