Aunt of toddler found dead to appear in Bloemfontein court
An aunt of Onkarabetse Leeuw (5) is set to appear in court, following a similar family tragedy two weeks earlier.
An aunt of five-year-old Onkarabetse Leeuw, confirmed dead by Free State police, is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court following the tragic discovery of the child’s body.
Bloemfontein Courant reports that Onkarabetse was reported missing by her mother on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Thabo Covane says the child’s body was found on Wednesday afternoon. “The body of young Onkarabetse was discovered on Wednesday, hidden under a cardboard box in dense vegetation on the southern outskirts of Glen Location at about 16:17,” Covane confirms.
A case of kidnapping and murder has been opened at Glen Police Station.
This incident follows the disappearance and death of another toddler from the same family, Karabo Leeuw, just two weeks earlier.
