Bodies of missing Joburg South women discovered at mine

The women were reported missing after a home invasion near the Eye of Africa estate over the weekend.

Private investigator Mike Bolhuis says the bodies of two women from Johannesburg who were reported missing on Saturday were discovered at an opencast mine in Eikenhof today.

Hester Flemming (52) and Cecilia Johanna Flemming (82) went missing after a home invasion at a property on Caymen Road, near the Eye of Africa Estate. It is believed the invasion occurred between 22:00 on Friday and 04:00 on Saturday.

According to Bolhuis, the house was ransacked, and two vehicles allegedly were stolen. One of the vehicles was recovered at a car wash in Thokoza early on Saturday.

Police are currently on the scene to recover the bodies.
