Boipatong toddler snatched as mother and son got off taxi

Police in Boipatong are appealing for community assistance after the abduction of a two-year-old boy yesterday.

Police in Boipatong, Gauteng, are urgently seeking assistance following the abduction of a two-year-old boy yesterday afternoon.

This comes after Kutlwano Shalaba was taken from his mother in broad daylight as they were getting off a taxi in Tshirela, near the Dr Nhlapo stop sign.

According to local police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela, the boy’s mother, Keneiwe Shalaba (32), claims her son was snatched by three unidentified men in a silver-grey Polo.

The men reportedly seized Kutlwano and sped off, leaving the mother distraught.

In an urgent appeal, police have called on the community to help locate the missing toddler.

“Police urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact branch commander Captain Mokgoto at 082 778 7937 immediately, or Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela at 079 695 1338.”
