Springbok scrum-half Grant Williams has signed a new contract with the Sharks, which has also announced extensions for three promising forwards.

The Sharks announced that Williams will be staying at Kings Park until the next world cup in 2027.

Paarl-born Williams has come through the Sharks ranks after moving to Durban to play for club side College Rovers.

Having made his Super Rugby debut in February 2018, Williams has tallied 54 first-class appearances for the Sharks, scoring 19 tries.

His excellent form and eye for a gap led to him making his Test debut in 2022 and earning a place in the 2023 Rugby World Cup squad, helping the Springboks retain the Webb Ellis Cup, with his pace being utilised on the wing in the tournament.

Williams is one of two Springbok scrum-halves in John Plumtree’s squad, along with Jaden Hendrikse.

The Sharks have also retained the services of 23-year-old lock Emile van Heerden and 23-year-old tighthead prop Hanro Jacobs until 2027.

Hooker Fez Mbatha (24) has signed on until 2026.
