The first theft took place in Talbot Street, Sherwood Gardens in Brakpan.

The owner of the motorcycle was awakened just before 04:00 by patrolling security guards who informed him his gate and garage were both open. He discovered two motorbikes and a scooter had been stolen.

Shortly after this, two motorcycles were stolen from a home along Terminal Way in Anzac.

The owner was awakened by the screams of a neighbour at 04:15 who told him she saw four men on his property. The man rushed to the garage and found both his bikes were stolen.

Later that morning a team comprising of members from the Ekurhuleni North District Trio Operational Team, Benoni Flying Squad, East Rand 911 (Zello), Secure Tech Security, Brakpan Radio Group and CP Security recovered the two bikes stolen in Talbot Street.
