EFF’s Pretoria march in contravention of lockdown regulations – police
The EFF marched to the SA Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) offices in Pretoria demanding an urgent approval of the Russian and Chinese vaccines.
Police are expected to open a criminal case against the convenor of the Economic Freedom Front (EFF) march which took place outside Loftus Park, Pretoria, on Friday afternoon.
The EFF marched to the SA Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) offices in Pretoria demanding an urgent approval of the Russian and Chinese vaccines.

Police spokesperson Colonel Brenda Muridili said the march was in contravention of the level 3 regulations as over 100 people attended.
“The police were monitoring the march which was peaceful. Protesters were dispersing on Friday afternoon,” she said.

“The police will compile a report and determine what charges have to be instituted against the convener of the march since there were clearly more than the restricted number of people participating.”
During the march, party leader Julius Malema said lockdown was not a solution, but the solution was to vaccinate the majority of South Africans.
