A man accused of possession of stolen property has appeared at eShowe Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in police custody for further investigation, Zululand Observer reports.

The 29-year-old is expected to appear on Wednesday for bail application.

King Cetshwayo Cluster police spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, said eShowe SAPS reacted on a tip-off about a suspicious vehicle spotted driving near ATM machines along John Ross Street in the CBD.

“One of the occupants was found in possession of 17 cards from different banks,” said Mdlalose.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that some of the cards were reported as stolen by clients at the banks.”
