Eskom has announced changes to the load-shedding implementation schedule for the rest of the week.

Stage 3 load-shedding was implemented at 16:00  and initially, would have only been in effect until midnight. However, the power utility has now said that this stage of power cuts will continue until 05:00 tomorrow and will again be implemented from 16:00 tomorrow until 05:00 on Friday morning.

(1/2) As previously communicated, Stage 3 loadshedding will be implemented at 16:00 on Wednesday and Thursday. In order to replenish the dam levels at the pumped storage stations, this load shedding will be extended until 05:00 (previously midnight).

Then stage 2 load-shedding is planned for Friday at 16:00 and will be implemented until 05:00 on Saturday.

Eskom says the extension of the power cuts is to replenish the dam levels at the pumped storage stations.
