Expected fuel price hike for April
If present market conditions remain and these increases are implemented, fuel prices will be driven to a new all time high.

According to mid-month data from the Central Energy Fund, South African motorists will suffer more agony at the pump in April, as a significant increase in both petrol and diesel prices is anticipated.
The data covers the period from March 14, and indicates large rises for both petrol and diesel motorists, despite rising international petroleum costs due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
If present market conditions remain and these increases are implemented, fuel prices will be driven to a new all time high.
According to reports, these are the following mid-month changes:
•Petrol 95: R2.27 per litre increase;
•Petrol 93: R2.19 per litre increase;
•Diesel 0.05 percent: R3.12 per litre increase;
•Diesel 0.005 percent: R3.26 per litre increase;
•Illuminating Paraffin: R2.66 per litre increase
The Department of Energy has stated that the daily snapshots are not predictive and do not account for other potential changes such as slate levy adjustments or retail margin changes. These charges are calculated by the department at the end of each month after all variables are taken into consideration.
Adjustments are made by the Department of Energy based on a study of the entire period. The situation can change before the conclusion of the month.
