Five more Covid-19 deaths, 1 845 positive confirmed cases
In total 18 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported.
Five more people have died due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak in the country, the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, announced in a statement on Wednesday evening.
Two of the recent deceased were Gauteng men aged 49 and 52. Two others were from the Free State, aged 55 and 77 respectively, and one was from Kwa-Zulu Natal aged 70.
According to Mkhize the total cases of infected people had risen to 1 845 with Gauteng still leading with 782 cases, followed by Western Cape with 495 cases.
“The total number of Covid-19 tests conducted is 63 776. This is an increase of 5 678 from our last report,” he said.
