Grade R pupil found stabbed to death

The girl who was found murdered in a bush in Woodlands, KwaZulu-Natal, was a Grade R pupil at Berg Street Primary School, police confirmed.

It was previously alleged the child was a teenager, Public Eye Maritzburg reported.

It is believed the child was at school on Monday, and that the incident occurred after school.

According to police sources, the child was found with five stab wounds in a bush off Ottos Bluff Road in Woodlands.

The child is said to have been from Sweetwaters.

Investigations are ongoing.

This after the second accused in the murder of Phoenix schoolboy Shahiel Sewpujan (9) appeared in the Verulam Magistrates’ Court last week.

Rajwanthi Haripersadh (54) appeared in court again last Tuesday with the first accused, Kavitha Naicker (31).

Haripersadh and Naicker – who own the house where Sewpujan and his mother were renting – are accused of murdering the boy who was found dead and naked inside a manhole in Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal, earlier this month.

Postmortem results show that Sewpujan was hit in the head with a blunt object, while his body was found badly bruised and with duct tape covering his mouth.
