Limpopo woman killed day after court appearance

The woman was reportedly killed by the man, believed to be her boyfriend, who she reportedly stabbed during a heated argument.

Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has warned citizens against taking the law into their own hands.

Her stern warning follows the murder of Zindle Mokoena (21) who was killed in her home a day after she appeared in court on the count of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

“The victim was arrested after she stabbed and seriously injured a man, believed to be her boyfriend, during an altercation at his residence in Monsterloos village outside Sekhukhune on Tuesday,” Lieutenant Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed.

She was apprehended on Thursday and appeared before the Nebo Magistrate’s Court yesterday (October 7) where she was released on free bail.

Ledwaba said last night she visited a tavern that is situated next to her home.

Here, the man who she reportedly assaulted entered the tavern at about 19:45. Reports state that he dragged her to her house and stabbed her numerous times, killing her instantly.

“The man was arrested at the scene of the crime and is scheduled to appear in the Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Monday to face a charge of murder,” Ledwaba concluded.
