Load-shedding update: Weekend power cuts reduced

Various stages of load-shedding will be implemented until Sunday.

After having to endure stage 6 load-shedding for the past few days, South Africans can look forward to some relief as Eskom says power cuts will be reduced over the weekend.

The power utility says a slight improvement to the grid made it possible to move from stage 6 to stage 5 load-shedding, which will continue until 05:00 tomorrow. Lower stages of power cuts can be expected thereafter.

Your weekend load-shedding outlook:

  • Currently until Saturday 05:00: Stage 5
  • Saturday 05:00 – 16:00: Stage 3
  • Saturday 16:00 – Sunday 05:00: Stage 4
  • Sunday 05:00 – 16:00: Stage 1
  • Sunday 16:00 – midnight: Stage 4

Eskom says it will publish an update on Sunday afternoon or sooner, should there be significant changes.
