Man drowns at Glenashley Beach in Durban North
Despite efforts by paramedics and members of the public to resuscitate a man after pulling him from the ocean, he was declared dead at the scene.
A man, believed to be in his 50s, drowned at Glenashley Beach in KZN last night.
According to an article published by Northglen News, Advance Life Support (ALS) Paramedics arrived at the scene in Durban North just after 18:00.
The man had already been rescued from the sea and CPR and resuscitation efforts were underway by bystanders and the public, says ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
“ALS Paramedics took over the resuscitation attempt, however, after some time, the patient showed no response and [was] declared deceased on the scene,” he adds.
It is unknown how the man drowned.
SAPS is investigating.
