Man shot dead in Mbombela

Police are looking for three robbers who killed a man who was sitting inside his car outside a store.

A man was fatally shot by three unknown robbers in Valencia in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, yesterday.

According to provincial police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the incident occurred at 14:15 when the victim was accosted by the gunmen when he was waiting in his vehicle near a store.

“It is further reported that [they] approached him in his car and robbed him of his money, and it was during this time that he [the victim] was shot. The suspects are said to have fled the scene using a silver Ford Fiesta,” he says.

The perpetrators are still at large and are being sought by the police.

SAPS is investigating a case of robbery and murder.
