Man shot dead in Mbombela

Three suspects robbed a victim and fatally shot him before they fled the scene.

A man was robbed and fatally shot by three unknown suspects at a filling station along the Samora Machel Drive in Mbombela on Tuesday, August 27.

According to the provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the incident occurred at 14:15 when the victim was accosted by these armed suspects as he was waiting in his vehicle near a certain store.

“It is further reported that the suspects had approached him in his car and robbed him of his money, and it was during this time that he was shot. The suspects are said to have then fled the scene in a silver Ford Fiesta,” he said.
The suspects are still at large.
The SAPS is investigating a case of robbery and murder, and urges anyone with information to call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or send information via the My SAPS app.
