Mpumalanga police concerned about cases in which children murder parents

Police in the province have voiced their concern about parents being murdered by their own children

This comes after a 55-year-old man was allegedly “chopped to death” by his 28-year-old son in Calcutta near Hazyview on Tuesday.

Police found the victim in a pool of his own blood and he was declared dead on the scene.

Meanwhile, community members had apprehended and assaulted the alleged killer. He is in hospital under police guard.

He will appear in the Mkhuhlu Magistrate’s Court as soon as he is discharged from hospital.

This also comes after a 17-year-old boy was arrested near Bushbuckridge for allegedly hacking his uncle, who was his guardian, to death on Monday.
