Parolee shoots ex-girlfriend, mom and himself in Nigel
Angela Maleka is still fighting for her life in ICU while her mother has been discharged.

A parolee from Duduza in Nigel killed himself and seriously injured his former girlfriend and her mother on Sunday, shortly after the couple broke up.
Angela Maleka is still fighting for her life in ICU while her mother, Kettie Maleka, has since been discharged from hospital.
According to information Tlatsi Chapule forced his way into the Maleka home in Duduza outside Nigel on Sunday, and demanded to speak to Angela. He took out a gun and opened fire on the Maleka women.
Angela was hit three times while Kettie was hit twice in her upper body. Chapule turned the gun on himself. He was declared dead on the scene.
The couple started dating in February and Angela ended the relationship last week.
Her mother says she met Chapule in the street earlier that day and while they exchanged pleasantries he apologised.
“I didn’t understand what he was apologising for and at the time I didn’t pay much attention to it,” she adds.
Chapule served eight years in prison for hijacking and was released in January.
Duduza police spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka confirmed the incident is under investigation.
