Police bust Pretoria online drug syndicate
A number of suspects have been arrested in various locations in Pretoria and various items have been seized following an investigation into an online drug syndicate.
Police dismantled an online drug syndicate operating from East Lynne in Pretoria today.
According to an article published by Pretoria Rekord, the syndicate was selling illicit steroids, scheduled medicine, stimulants, and other performance-enhancing drugs to consumers.
SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk says a number of suspects were apprehended at various locations in Pretoria, following a thorough investigation that included forensic analysis.
“Investigations that included a forensic analysis revealed that one of the products sold online as a ‘fat burner’ contained dimethylphenethylamine, an isomer of methamphetamine (commonly known as crystal meth or tik),” she says.
According to police, the scene was still active at the time of publishing.
This is a developing story. Pretoria Rekord will publish more information as it becomes available.
