Residents of Lebohang torch municipal building

The service centre, a bakkie and a car were set alight.

LEANDRA – Angry residents torched the Thusong service centre of Govan Mbeki Municipality, a car and a bakkie in Lebohang today, 24 June.

This happened after a meeting that was held at the township’s taxi rank.

Residents showed their dissatisfaction with the executive mayor, Mr Nhlakanipho Zuma’s answers during a visit to the area early this month.

At that time 7 trucks were set alight on R50 during community unrest.

The residents said they are still fighting for land and took decision to fight the municipality directly.
