Secunda couple arrested on suspicion of bestiality
NSPCA inspectors were at two properties in Secunda to collect evidence linked to the investigation.
A couple were arrested in Secunda on Wednesday, in connection with a case of bestiality, reports Ridge Times.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Captain Mpho Nonyane, confirmed the incident. He said the two were released yesterday (November 27) and that the case is still under investigation.
Jacques Peacock, National Council of SPCAs’ spokesperson, said in a media statement that NSPCA inspectors were in Secunda on Wednesday to investigate the matter.
The NSPCA confirms that two individuals were arrested this morning in Secunda, Mpumalanga, on suspicion of bestiality.

NSPCA inspectors reported to two separate properties linked to the suspects to secure the scene and collect evidence.
“As this is an active criminal investigation, the welfare of any animals found, and the integrity of the evidence remain our foremost priorities. Further information will be provided as the case progresses,” said Peacock.
The Ridge Times tried to reach out to Peacock telephonically on today, but he was not available for further comment at the time of publishing.
