‘Sex predator’ back in court
A man arrested and charged with sexual assault is expected to appear again in the Chatsworth Magistrates’ Court in Durban on Thursday.
The 69-year-old man was arrested at a shopping centre in Chatsworth, Durban, on Monday last week, Rising Sun Chatsworth reported.
His arrest came after he allegedly sat naked in his car and tried to lure car guards and other unsuspecting women inside his vehicle.
According to a car guard, the man had previously been chased away from the centre for doing the same thing.
“[He] was parked in the parking lot about two weeks ago. He had been calling out to women walking in the vicinity as if he was asking for directions. When the women went to his car, he would show them his penis,” said the guard.
The man appeared at the court shortly after his arrest and was released on R2 000 bail.
In a separate incident, a North West man was arrested and fined R8 000 after he allegedly solicited nude photographs from the daughters of divorced women in September last year.
The man, a construction worker, was convicted of possession of child pornography and later added to the national register of sex offenders.
