Shootings rock Pretoria township with 14-year-old, three others falling victim

Four people were killed by heavily armed suspects in Soshanguve yesterday.

Police are investigating the murder of four people, including a 14-year-old girl outside Pretoria.

The incident reportedly occurred yesterday morning at around 01:30 along a roadway at Soshanguve Block P.

According to reports, heavily armed suspects opened fire killing four people.

It is believed three men approached the victims in two vehicles. The men allegedly carried long firearms, believed to be rifles. They were dressed in black bulletproof vests.

Police found two women and two men with gunshot wounds. Three of them are believed to be around the ages of 29 and 30. One of the victims was a teenage girl.

Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said police were investigating four counts of murder.

“In the early hours of January 1, 2024, the police attended to a shooting incident at Soshanguve where they found four people with gunshot wounds on the street.”

“The circumstances that led to the shooting are unknown at this stage and no suspects have been arrested as yet.”

The police request anyone who may have information that can assist with the investigation into the incident, to contact the Crime Stop Line at 08600 10111 or anonymously report tip-offs on MySapsApp.
