A provisional date of November 18 has been set for Macu's bail application.
The first accused in the murders of Glen and Vida Rafferty, Siyabonga Goodman Macu has been set a provisional date of November 18 for his bail application.
Macu and co-accused, Doctor Fikani Ngwenya appeared again in the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court today (November 11). Proceedings were moved to the C Court due to the B Court Magistrate being unwell.
In court, it was heard that attorney, Sinethemba Myeni would represent Macu going forward. Ngwenya will be represented by Legal Aid’s Ms Khumalo.
Macu previously abandoned his bail bid on advisement from his legal counsel, during an appearance on September 29. Ngwenya followed the same advice during his appearance on October 29.
