Some roads in Kruger National Park closed due to heavy rains

Motorists have been cautioned as rain persists in the national park, with several roads being closed and bridges overflowing.

Some roads and bridges in the Kruger National Park (KNP) are closed due to heavy rains, with several bridges reported to be overflowing today.

Lowvelder reports all gravel roads in the Satara Camp area are closed.

Dirt roads in the Kingfisher Ranger Station area at Orpen, including the S82, S128, S30, and S122, have washed away between De La Port and Skukuza Bridge.

The low-water bridge over the Sand River at Skukuza is closed due to overflowing, and the Skukuza Airport is only accessible via Shalati Lodge Bridge.

Due to the ongoing rains in the KNP, motorists are advised to drive with caution.
