Son attacked with acid: Mother, co-accused appear in Ladysmith court
A mother and co-accused in an attempted murder case have had their bail hearing postponed, while the mother also faces an additional charge.
Nontobeko Portia ‘Sindi’ Ngema and Msizi Mbhele appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today to apply for bail.
Dubbed the ‘acid attempted murder’ case, the duo are accused of trying to kill Ngema’s 26-year-old son using drain cleaning acid.
The case was postponed to next Thursday.
Ngema also faces an additional charge of theft, which was postponed to the same date as the attempted murder charge.
They were arrested in town on October 20, and made their first court appearance two days later.
