Two men in court for allegedly swallowing drugs

The two men are expected to appear in Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court after they were found to have swallowed drugs in OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Police spokesperson Brig Vishnu Naidoo confirmed the reports, and said the two men were travelling on Angolan and DRC passports. They were arrested at OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday, Kempton Express reported.

“The men, aged 35 and 47, were in transit from Sao Paolo, Brazil. The value of the drugs could not be established yet because some of the drugs were still lodged in their stomachs,” added Naidoo.

Meanwhile, a 52-year-old man appeared in Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday after R1m worth of tik was found wrapped around his body at OR Tambo International Airport.

Emmanuel Akunehuezi Obiwuru, who was travelling on a Nigerian issued passport, was arrested at the airport at the weekend, said Naidoo.
