The men have been on the Reiger Park police station in Boksburg’s most wanted list since April and was traced after their alleged most recent hijacking on Monday.

When two suspects were arrested on Tuesday for the hijacking of a Bolt driver the day before, an alert investigating officer realised that they might be a duo that has been on the Reiger Park police station’s most wanted list for four weeks.

“Things heated up when a Bolt driver was hijacked on Monday. The EMPD Special Task Team acted on a tip-off from National Crime Intelligence regarding the hijackers.
The task team acted in the information and arrested the suspects at Papachinos Restaurant in Sunward Park on Tuesday.
“They brought the suspects to our police station where the investigating officer, who assisted the special task team, realised that they are also linked to other crimes reported at our police station. .
“The investigations into how many the suspects are linked to, is ongoing.
“They were arrested for the alleged hijacking of the Bolt driver, but we believe they are linked to crimes such as robbery, extortion, attempted murder, murder and other serious and violent crimes in Reiger Park and surrounding areas,” says Motaung.
The station commander of Reiger Park Lieutenant Colonel Eugene Roets commended the teamwork that led to the arrests.
“We don’t have a place for such criminals in Reiger Park and our main objective is to see justice prevail,” says Roets.
