In the video footage captured in April, one of the suspects appears from behind the counter of the bar and waves his firearm at the workers. Chaos erupts, but some patrons remain unaware of what is happening. As people start panicking, more of the customers realise a robbery is taking place and flee the room.

One customer sitting at the bar has his phone snatched from him and a gun pointed at him as he tries to get it back.

Anyone who can identify the suspects from the video or has information about the suspects’ whereabouts can contact the investigating officer, Detective Constable Ernest Ngobeni on 084 073 0756 or 061 019 3355.

Last month, a man was shot and killed after he allegedly refused to cooperate with the suspectsduring a robbery in a restaurant in Krugersdorp, on the West Rand.

It is alleged four staff members of the Banjaara Restaurant in Key West Shopping Centre were walking home on Cecil Knight Street in Rant-en-Dal when they were approached by the robbers in a suspicious vehicle.

According to the spokesperson of Sector 3’s Community Policing Forum (CPF) Lourens Maritz, a maroon VW Polo with an Eastern Cape registration was parked on Hugo Street with its hazards on.

“Two suspects then climbed out of the vehicle and fired a warning shot, ordering the victims to put their hands in the air and hand over their belongings. After the shot was fired one of the staff members got a fright and tried to flee the scene. One of the two suspects chased after him, hitting him on the head with his gun. A struggle ensued, resulting in the suspect shooting the man,” added Maritz.
