VIDEO: Burglary at Kempton Park business
Police in Kempton Park, Gauteng, are looking for two men who were caught on camera stealing computers from a business in the Isando area.
The men were caught on CCTV footage taking two computer boxes and a monitor in the early hours of May 29, Kempton Express reported.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Jethro Mtshali, the owner of the waste management business, received a phone call the following day informing him of the burglary.
“When the owner arrived at his business, he found the windows had been smashed and the burglar bars damaged. When he checked the CCTV footage, he saw the two men stealing from the company,” Mtshali said.
The footage shows one of the men downstairs at 1.42am. The man goes into another room, takes a computer box and then exits. He comes back a second time, goes back to the same room and comes out with a second computer box.
He then returns a few minutes later, this time with his accomplice, and they both go upstairs at 1.49am.
They come back downstairs at 1.56am carrying a computer box and monitor. A business burglary case is under investigation.
In April, one of three suspects, involved in a business robbery, had been shot dead in Phoenix, Durban, in KwaZulu-Natal.
It is alleged three robbers entered the shop and informed the victim they wanted to buy some chips, then walked around the shop. One of the suspects approached the victim at gunpoint and demanded cash, said provincial police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane.
Zwane added the suspects forced the victim to lie down and opened a safe. Cigarettes valued at R2 000 and an undisclosed amount of cash were taken. The suspects fled the scene towards Zwelisha area after the incident.
