WATCH: Criminals change clothes right after break-in attempt

The thieves in the video footage chuck their clothes in a yard to avoid detection by police.

Video footage of an attempted break-in at a home in Helderkruin, on the West Rand, shows three suspects walking in the street taking off the clothing they wore during the attempted break-in on Thursday, the Roodepoort Record reports.

The footage shows them chucking the clothing in a nearby yard. This may be the latest modus operandi suspects use to appear normal and escape detection after committing a crime.

The three suspects had initially tried to break into a house on Amatola Street in Helderkruin. The owner of the house saw the suspects in the yard and pressed the panic button.

The three fled, and one was caught. Police are still searching for the other two.
