The presidents of South Africa and the US, Cyril Ramaphosa and Donald Trump, are currently holding a bilateral meeting at the White House in Washington DC to strengthen diplomatic ties and boost trade between the two countries.

The South African delegation includes International Relations Minister Ronald Lamola, Trade and Industry Minister Parks Tau, Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, Minister of Agriculture John Steenhuisen, Cosatu president Zingiswa Losi, business leaders Johann Rupert and Adrian Gore, and golf legends Ernie Els and Retief Goosen.

Trump is joined by Vice President JD Vance, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Elon Musk, who is serving in an advisory capacity to the US government.
