Watch: Double CIT heist shuts down N2 near Mtubatuba

An investigation is underway after gunmen bombed a CIT vehicle in a heist on the N2 near Mtubatuba, temporarily closing the highway.

An investigation is underway following a double cash-in-transit (CIT) heist on the N2 near Mtubatuba this morning.

According to Zululand Observer, multiple gunshots were fired when two CIT vehicles were forcibly stopped, and one was bombed on the N2 in the Shikishela area.

Emergency services are currently on the scene, and the N2 is temporarily closed to traffic.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service, which responded to the scene, said paramedics treated a patient with minor injuries.
