Watch: KZN woman survives brutal stabbing, allegedly by ex-partner

Children witnessed a gender-based violence attack on their mother in eSikhaleni.

An eSikhaleni, KZN, woman miraculously survived a violent stabbing, allegedly carried out by her former partner at her home on Wednesday morning.

Zululand Observer reports that the victim (33), whose identity is being withheld to protect her identity, says she now lives in constant fear for her life and that of her children.

“Since the incident, we’ve been locking ourselves inside the house. The kids are no longer going to school because he keeps calling and threatening to harm us,” said the woman.

Recalling the terrifying attack, she told the Zululand Observer that the suspect had jumped over the fence and hid behind the water tank before ambushing her as she stepped out to move her car.

“He came out with a huge knife. I fell to the ground, and he stabbed me in the chest in front of my children. I screamed for help, and my brother and sister rushed to my rescue, but he had already stabbed me,” she recounted.

The woman confirmed that she has opened a case at eSikhawini SAPS, but the suspect remains at large.
