WATCH: One dead, several hurt in air crash north of Pretoria
Paramedics and other emergency services are still on the scene where an international chartered aircraft crashed into a factory earlier on Tuesday afternoon.
Nineteen people were injured when an aircraft headed to the Wonderboom airport crashed in the north of Pretoria on Tuesday afternoon, Rekord North reports.
This happened shortly after the chartered aircraft had taken off, said local CPF chairman Vernon Smith.
“Residents watched in horror as the airplane fell into a field east of the Moloto Road.”
Paramedic Xander Loubser said early indications were that 19 people were injured in the crash.
Several of them suffered serious injuries, he said.
However, one person has been confirmed dead and several others suffered critical injuries.
According to Loubser several patients have been airlifted to nearby hospitals.
Emergency services were still busy on the scene.
