The all-new Triton and the compact SUV, Xforce, have both clinched the coveted iF Design Award 2024 in the product design category.
Mitsubishi Motors is dedicated to delivering enriching mobility experiences that awaken drivers’ adventurous spirit and excite all passengers. Rooted in core values of dynamic strength, robustness and authenticity, its design ethos evolves with the times, ensuring reliability and thrill.
For 70 years, the iF Design Award has celebrated exceptional design, attracting entries from 72 countries judged by a panel of 132 international experts based on five criteria: idea, form, function, differentiation and impact.
“We are deeply honoured to be recognised with one of the world’s most esteemed design accolades for our two latest models,” said Seiji Watanabe, the general manager of design at Mitsubishi Motors. “Each model embodies its distinctive character – the Triton exudes boldness, while the Xforce adopts an agile stance – all while embodying Mitsubishi Motors’ signature robustness. This award propels us to introduce the Triton and Xforce to a wider audience.”
The Triton
As a one-ton pickup truck tracing its lineage back to the Forte of 1978, the all-new Triton embodies toughness and strength expected of a pickup, while exuding ruggedness and agility. The interior boasts a robust, horizontally themed instrument panel for easy visibility and operation, prioritising grip comfort and sturdiness.
The Xforce
The compact SUV offers comfort and practicality in a maneuverable body, featuring a spacious cabin and versatile storage spaces. With the ‘Silky and Solid’ design concept, the Xforce balances airy silkiness in the upper body with solid powerful proportions in the lower, creating a stylish yet robust exterior. Inside, a sophisticated interior integrates advanced technology seamlessly.
Jeffrey Allison, the general manager of marketing at Mitsubishi Motors South Africa, expressed excitement about the upcoming launch of the Xforce and Triton in Q3. “Winning the prestigious iF Design Award for these models, following the New Outlander’s success, underscores our fresh design language’s broad appeal. Mitsubishi Motors continues to captivate a diverse audience, promising our consumers an even more appealing future.”
