Chery enters Fortune Global 500: Chinese automaker makes major leap
Chery Holding Group has officially joined the prestigious Fortune Global 500 list, securing the 385th position. This remarkable achievement underscores the Chinese automaker’s rapid growth and global dominance.
Chery Holding Group has once again cemented its status as a global automotive powerhouse by entering the Fortune Global 500 list.
The Chinese car manufacturer ranked 385, boasting an impressive revenue of £42.7b (R998b).
This milestone is a testament to Chery’s unwavering commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability. Founded just 27 years ago, the company has experienced exponential growth, with annual sales nearly doubling from 962 000 to 1.9 million vehicles between 2021 and 2023.
Chery’s global footprint is equally impressive. With operations in 80 countries and regions, the brand has exported over 3.9 million units, making it the leading Chinese exporter of passenger cars. Notably, one in every three exported Chinese passenger vehicles in 2023 was a Chery.
Despite this phenomenal success, Chery remains dedicated to its customers. Tony Liu, the executive deputy general manager of Chery South Africa, emphasised the company’s commitment to strengthening its presence in markets like South Africa, where brand loyalty has exceeded expectations.
This latest achievement follows Chery’s Gold Award in the National Automobile Dealer’s Association’s Dealer Satisfaction Index and its top spot in the auto category of the Google X Kantar BrandZ Top 50 Chinese Global Brand Builders for 2024.
