In November, we reported that JMC officially relaunched its South African operations with its Vigus bakkie lineup. And with its re-entry into our market, the firm announced targeted pricing for the Vigus model range. Well, the automaker has now confirmed how much the Vigus costs in SA.

Price in SA

The Vigus is priced from R299 900. At launch, the Vigus is available as a single-cab and double-cab – the former available in 4×2, and the latter in 4×2 and 4×4 configurations. Included in the price is a five-year/100 000km warranty. JMC’s renewed local presence is supported by its partnership with Salvador Caetano South Africa, with plans to establish 40 dealerships nationwide in 2026.

The single-cab model is motivated by a Ford-sourced 2.4-litre turbodiesel churning out 103kW and 310Nm, and paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The double-cab variant is powered by a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine producing 104kW and 350Nm, and coupled with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. The company claims the 2.4-litre oil burner returns between 8.0 and 8.2L/100km, while the 2.0-litre mill returns 7.8L/100km.
