Cars coming to South Africa in 2026: BMW

Speaking to every manufacturer on the South African car market, and taking a glimpse into our own crystal ball, we bring you the cars you can look forward to coming to SA in 2026.

Here are the highlights of BMW models heading to South Africa in the coming 12 months.

While we know that the new-generation BMW iX3, which we sampled for a first drive at the international launch event in Spain, will arrive in South Africa in the third quarter of 2026, it seems likely that the second model to adopt the German automaker’s new ‘Neue Klasse’ styling will be the all-new, eighth-generation 3 Series, set to be sold with a selection of powertrain options, including a hybrid and an i3 all-electric variant.

However, before the box-fresh iX3 arrives here, BMW’s local arm will introduce the new M2 CS – to complement the M2-based 333i Homage and M240i xDrive-based 325iS Homage special-edition models – to its product portfolio in the second quarter of 2026.

Also on the horizon are the next X5 and X7, and a refreshed iX.

As a reminder, the new M2 CS is endowed with M3/M4 Competition xDrive-matching power and torque outputs of 390 kW and 650 N.m – good for a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.8 seconds, two-tenths of a second quicker than the “standard” M2 equipped with BMW’s M Steptronic eight-speed automatic transmission, before topping out at 302 km/h.

The CS-badged M2 delivers power to the road via a rear-wheel drivetrain, coupled with the aforementioned self-shifter. The pinnacle M2 is brought to a halt by a set of M Compound brakes. Locally, the new M2 CS will be priced from R2 291 827, making it around R708 000 more expensive than the model it is based on.
