Mercedes-Benz reveals electric C-Class with 762km range
Mercedes-Benz’s electric C-Class delivers strong outputs, quick charging and added space in a sleek, coupe-inspired design.

Unveiled in C400 4Matic format, the initial model in Mercedes-Benz’s all-electric C-Class lineup employs a dual electric-motor powertrain producing combined system outputs of 360kW and 800Nm of torque. According to the German marque, these figures allow the 2 460kg (claimed) emissions-free sedan to complete the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.0 seconds. The top speed is rated at 210km/h.
The C400 4Matic electric is equipped with a 94kWh battery, which offers a claimed operating range of up to 762km from a single, full charge. Thanks to the car’s 800V architecture, which also supports bi-directional charging, the lithium-ion item can receive up to 330kW at a DC fast-charging station. Plugged into such a facility, a 10-80% charge takes 22 minutes, the Stuttgart marque says, with 325km of range added in just 10 minutes. Mercedes-Benz claims a combined energy consumption of 14.1-18.5kWh/100km.

The all-electric C-Class measures 4 883mm in length and 1 892mm in width; making it 132mm longer and 72mm wider than its current-generation ICE siblings. The new model’s wheelbase is also longer, 2 962 vs 2 865mm. Mercedes-Benz claims a boot capacity of 470L – 15L more than the ICE variant. The ‘frunk’ (front trunk) offers an additional 101L. The braked towing capacity matches the ICE models’, at 1 800kg.
“With the all-new electric C‑Class, we have made a profound statement: reinventing classic elegance for the electric age. Its distinctive, coupé-like silhouette, sculpted with taut surfaces and muscular wheel arches, radiates a powerful emotional appeal. From the iconic illuminated grille to the star-design headlights, every detail instantly symbolises our new era of Mercedes‑Benz,” said Bastian Baudy, the chief design officer of Mercedes-Benz Group AG.
