Four arrested after seizure of R50m in drugs

After receiving the tip-off, the Hawks targeted the place before arresting the four suspects found manufacturing steroids.


More than R50 million in illegal drugs has been seized and four people arrested in Silverton, Pretoria.

“Police received a tip-off on Tuesday about illegal activities which were happening at Domkrag Street in Silverton,” said Hawks spokesperson Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu announced on Thursday.

“After receiving the tip-off, the Hawks targeted the place before arresting the four [found] manufacturing steroids – tablets and liquid – and a manufacturing machine was seized.”

Reports indicate that Hennie Jordan, 46, Brentwood Luiters, 31, Merrium Twala, 37, and Frans Dikgale, 31, made a brief appearance at the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday on charges of drug traffic and contravening the the Medicines Control Act, Rekord East reported.

“The four remained in police custody after their case was postponed to Friday for their formal bail application,” said Mulamu.
