Family dog perishes in devastating house fire in KZN

A family has been left devastated after a fire ravaged their home in Jade Street in Sunnyridge at about 4pm on Thursday, March 22, Newcastle Advertiser reports.

According to reports, the fire seemingly had started in one of the bedrooms in the house.

The Fire Department responded swiftly to the report, and the flames were quickly extinguished.

However, the family’s Dachshund succumbed to smoke inhalation.

Police and other emergency services were summoned to the house to conduct preliminary investigations, to determine the exact cause of the fire.
