Anderson stays put at 16

South Africa's Kevin Anderson maintained his career-high 16th placing in the latest ATP world rankings, released on Monday.

Anderson started the year at the Brisbane International Open, in Australia, where he was beaten 7-6 (3) 6-4 by Lukasz Kubot in the first round of the competition.

Raven Klaasen’s position remained unchanged despite a good outing with new doubles partner Leander Paes at the Chennai Open, in India.

The pair reached the doubles final on Sunday, where they fell 6-4 7-6 (4) to Great Britain’s Jonathan Marray and Chinese Tapei’s Yen-Hsun Lu.

Klaasen and Paes beat the Spanish combination of Pablo Carreno Busta and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-3 6-3 in the semi-finals.

South Africa’s top-ranked women’s player, Chani Scheepers, dropped four places to 81.
