Ayew joy at Ghana win

Andre Ayew was delighted that Ghana’s campaign got off to a winning start, after they beat Uganda 1-0 in their Africa Cup of Nations Group D opener on Tuesday.

Ayew’s first half penalty was the difference between the two sides, and the Black Stars captain said after the match: “We are happy to win today, because two years ago, even though we went to the final, we lost the first game (to Senegal). It was good to start with a victory and now we will prepare for Saturday (against Mali).”

“It was a very tough game,”  added Ayew.

“We had a good first half, the second was quite difficult.”
