Barry Roux calls next witness

Murder accused Oscar Pistorius's defence called its next witness to testify in the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday.

Roger Dixon was with the police forensic science laboratory between 1994 and end the end of 2012, he said to questioning by Barry Roux, SC.

He was in charge of the materials analysis sub-section and had completed many courses in crime scene investigation.

After having him list his credentials and qualifications, Roux began to question him about the lighting conditions in Pistorius’s bedroom.

Pistorius has been charged with murdering Steenkamp in his Pretoria townhouse on February 14 last year. He shot her through the locked door of his toilet, saying later he mistook her for an intruder about to emerge and attack him.

She was hit in the hip, arm, and head. He claims he did not see her get out of bed in the dark and go to the toilet.

The paralympian also faces three charges of contravening the Firearms Control Act, on which he has also denied guilt.
