Rain damages play in Cape

By Jon Cook

This resulted in the matches in the Men’s Interprovincial Tournament eventually having to be moved to the University of Cape Town, this after first the Western Province Cricket Club’s and then the Central Hockey Club’s (Vygieskraal) turfs were both declared unfit for play due to the waterlogged surfaces at both of these venues.

After Wednesday’s revised start times had seen the matches eventually completed, the 100% win record Western Province, Southern Gauteng and KwaZulu-natal Raiders teams went through to today’s semifinals of the Men’s Interprovincial Tournament with one of the five rounds in the preliminary, Pool stage, which were due to be played yesterday.

The semifinals and cross-pool play-offs are taking place today with the final and the classification matches are due to be played this weekend.
