Musk takes fresh ‘genocide’ swipe at Malema

By Faizel Patel

South African-born tech billionaire and owner of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk has taken a swipe at Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema.

Musk echoed a post on X claiming Malema was calling for the “genocide of the 4 million whites living in South Africa” and would likely be leader of South Africa “in a few months”.

He was slammed by many, who denied the claims.

Malema has yet to respond to the latest comments by Musk, but reacting to a similar claim earlier this year EFF MP and national spokesperson Vuyani Pambo told The Citizen that Musk is “panicking” about the outcome of the country’s 2024 elections.

“Some people must be met in the corridors — just to mince their racist faces. Elon Musk is panicking about what is obviously an inevitable outcome of the national elections… Julius Sello Malema will be president of South Africa. He must start practising calling the commander in chief as such,” Pambo said.

Kill the Boer

Last year Musk called on Ramaphosa to speak out against Malema‘s “Kill the Boer” chant.

The EFF leader repeated the chant at his party’s 10th-anniversary celebration at the FNB Stadium, drawing fresh outrage.

“They are openly pushing for genocide of white people in South Africa. @CyrilRamaphosa, why do you say nothing?”
