Housebreaker arrested, goods recovered

The suspect had broken into a garden shed.

A Blue Security armed response officer arrested a housebreaker and recovered stolen goods on Tuesday in Glenwood, KwaZulu-Natal, Berea Mail reports.

Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said two armed response officers responded to an alarm activation in Muthaiga Place when they spotted the suspect fleeing from the premises at around noon.

“The suspect had broken into a garden shed and stole a bag of camping chairs and a high-pressure cleaner. He jumped over the back boundary wall into a neighbouring property in Manning Road, where one of our officers arrested him and recovered the goods,” he said.

Jackson commended the officers for their swift action at the scene of the crime.

“Our professional armed response officers are dedicated to the fight against crime, and we hope that the recent spate of arrests they have made in the Umbilo and Glenwood areas sends a strong message that crime will not be tolerated on our watch,” Jackson said.
